Tasty Temptation, a 3-year-old filly by Medaglia d’Oro, became her sire’s thirteenth stakes-placed performer from his sensational debut crop, rallying strongly to nearly defeat Grade 1 winner Hooh Why in the May 17th La Lorgnette S. at Woodbine, falling just a half-length short in second.
Medaglia d’Oro is the Leading Second-Crop Sire with $2,888,921 in progeny earnings already in 2009 through May 18th, fresh off superstar filly Rachel Alexandra’s historic win in the $1.1 million Preakness S. (G1). Despite basically only having one crop to race, Medaglia d’Oro is sixth on the General Sires List, and he has seven stakes winners – three of those graded.
