Renda, a multiple stakes-winning juvenile filly from the first crop of Stonewall Stallions’ Medaglia d’Oro, made her seasonal debut on Jan. 30th with a strong rally to be a good second in the $150,000 Forward Gal Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream Park.
After a slow start, Renda settled towards the back of the pack before rallying strongly in the stretch to finish 2 ½ lengths behind Frolic’s Dream in the seven-furlong stakes race for 3-year-old fillies. She was 10 lengths clear of the third-place finisher.
The effort was good enough to earn Renda a lofty 95 Beyer Speed Figure, setting her up to likely go two turns and onto the Kentucky Oaks trail this spring. Trained by Juan Arias, Renda owns three wins from seven starts with earnings of $137,093 for owner Richard Rowan.
