Offspring of Leroidesanimaux had a banner day at Lone Star Park on Apr. 23, with a pair of winners representing the Stonewall stallion. The duo included a 2-year-old making his debut and a 3-year-old filly who took the feature race on the card.

The juvenile, named Rich Jewel, made his first start a winning one in a 4 1/2-furlong sprint. He made a quick break from the rail, settled back in third before coming three-wide into the stretch to make up some six lengths in the final furlong. He continued to pour it on, winning by five lengths.

Rich Jewel is owned and trained by Jerry Todd, who purchased the gray or roan gelding at the 2009 Keeneland September yearling sale. Rich Jewel is out of the unraced mare Southern Law, who produced the Brazilian champion miler Eyjur.

In the feature race, the 3-year-old filly Fortunia scored her second win in four lifetime starts with a one-length victory in a one-mile turf race, her first start on the grass. Stalking in second for the first half-mile, Fortunia overcame some trouble outside the quarter pole, gathered herself to mount another charge along the inside to get up by a length. The winner is trained by Cash Asmussen for Janeen Oliver.

Fortunia is out of the winning mare Essie's Maid and a half-sister to Dionisia, a champion filly in Italy at both age two and three, and a winner of seven stakes in that country.
