Thoroughbred breeding expert Bill Oppenheim wrote a column in the Dec. 10 issue of the Thoroughbred Daily News opining on his “Value Sires” that have runners in Kentucky for the upcoming 2010 breeding season, and he tabbed Stonewall Stallions’ leading freshman sire Leroidesanimaux (Brz) as a first-crop sire who will provide value in 2010.
Oppenheim pointed out that Leroidesanimaux started out his stallion career at a fee of $17,500 and is now down to $15,000, and that the Eclipse champion’s runners are worth watching as 3-year-olds in 2010.
Leroidesanimaux currently sits No. 11 on the Freshman Sires List with progeny earnings of $685,486 to date, including the top-class stakes performers Always a Princess and Marfach.
