Leroy's Dynameaux, a 3-year-old with a name that is a clever twist on his sire Leroidesanimaux, won at first asking in a maiden special weight race on the 6 1/2-furlong downhill turf course at Santa Anita Mar. 26.
Leroy's Dynameaux broke sixth in the eight-horse field, and was still fifth just a furlong from the wire. He rallied strongly for jockey Joel Rosario, passing his rivals to win by 1 1/4-lengths. The final time was 1:13 3/5.
The other part of Leroy's moniker comes from his dam Dyna Peak. She has produced the four-time stakes winning filly Dyna Da Wyna, her most notable score in the Valley View S. (G3) at Keeneland. All six of Dyna Peak's foals have at least one win to their credit.
The dark bay or brown Leroy's Dynameaux is owned by his breeder Ellenay Racing Inc. and trained by Mark Glatt.
