Our Champion became an impressive allowance winner from the debut crop of leading freshman sire Value Plus when the 2-year-old bay colt captured an entry-level allowance race at Calder on Nov. 29th.
After breaking his maiden by an impressive 6 ¼ lengths in his turf debut, Our Champion now owns two wins on grass after he closed to win Sunday’s allowance race by a neck. He stopped the clock in 1:43.89 for 1 1/16 miles over a course listed as good. The performance earned the emerging turf star a career-high 78 Beyer Speed Figure.
Trained by David Braddy, Our Champion moved his earnings to $25,895 for owner Michael Sucher. He was bred in Kentucky by Clarkland Farm from the graded stakes-producing Verbatim mare Little Password.
