Grade 1 winner Ariege, a 3-year-old daughter of Stonewall Stallions’ Doneraile Court, proved to be a hot commodity at the annual Fasig-Tipton Selected Fall Mixed Sale in Lexington, Ky. on Nov. 2nd, selling for $1.8 million as a racing/broodmare prospect to Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs.

Going through the elite sale as Hip No. 157A, Ariege has the bid quickly run up to seven figures before landing on a final bid of $1,800,000. She is likely to remain in training with Bobby Frankel, who also trains for new owner Adena Springs.

Ariege, who was consigned by Hidden Brook, agent, has earned $487,328 from four wins in 10 lifetime starts. She won the Santa Anita Oaks (G1) and the Beaumont S. (G2) in 2008, and was one of two North American Grade 1 winners for Doneraile Court this year.
