A colt by Stonewall stallion A. P. Warrior blazed an 1/8 mile in an incredible
:9 4/5 seconds in the training preview show for the Barretts selected sale for 2-year-olds, which is scheduled for Mar. 22.
The time was the co-fastest of the day at the Mar. 19 preview show. The bay colt is consigned by Murray Smith, agent, who had glowing things to say about her charge.
"I would say he's in the same category as any other Grade 1 winner I've ever had,” Smith said. “He's a very intelligent horse. He's done everything right and is a pleasure to train. He exudes class. I never like to speak before they breeze, but I've trained him all year long and I just knew he would have a bullet work. I knew he wouldn't let me down, he's that good."
The anticipation will surely be high for the colt when he enters the ring as Hip No. 119 in a sale that has 135 horses in the catalog. His pedigree will also draw attention; out of the mare Girl Gone Crazy, he is a half-brother to She's Our Annie, a three-time stakes winner. Also, Girl Gone Crazy is half-sister to the stakes winner Devils Disciple, who ran second in the Hopeful S. (G1) at Saratoga.
