The impressive maiden winners continue to surface for freshman sire sensation Medaglia d’Oro, whose 3-year-old colt Casa d’Oro became the latest debut winner to turn heads with his 7 ¾-length romp in $43,350 maiden special weight heat at Philadelphia Park on Jan. 27th.
Casa d’Oro professionally took command in the stretch and drew off to be alone at the wire, stopping the clock in 1:10 3/5 for six furlongs over a fast track. Trained by Michael Trombetta, the colt is out of the stakes-placed Tale of the Cat mare Six Pack Sally and was bred in Kentucky by St George Farm LLC & Spurrmont LLC. Current owners Harry & Tom Meyerhoff LLC purchased Case d’Oro for $70,000 at the KEESEP sale as a yearling.
