Hip No. 240, a filly from the first crop of multiple G1-winning millionaire Medaglia d’Oro, was the highest priced filly at the Fasig-Tipton Calder Select Two-Year-Olds In Training Sale in Miami on Feb. 26, selling for $900,000 to Lael Stable.

The beautiful bay filly is a half-sister to G1 winners Spun Sugar and Daaher, and she solidified her spot as the best filly in the sale after breezing an eighth of a mile in :10 2/5. Crupi’s New Castle Farm sold the filly to Roy and Gretchen Jackson’s Lael Stable. It was the only purchase of the sale for the Jacksons, the popular owners who campaigned the late Kentucky Derby winner, Barbaro.

Medaglia d’Oro stands in 2008 for a fee of $40,000 stands and nurses.
